How to send money on Nata in 3 steps

  1. Enter the username. Open Send to user in the Nata app (or nata.ng/transfer) and type the receiver's Nata username. Their full name appears so you can check it is the right person.
  2. Enter the amount. Anything from ₦500 to ₦5,000, from your wallet balance.
  3. Confirm with your PIN. The money moves instantly. Both of you see it in your transactions and the receiver gets a push notification saying who sent it.

What Send to user is for

It moves wallet balance from one Nata account to another. Typical uses: paying a friend back for data they bought you, giving a child or sibling money for airtime and data without sharing your account, or splitting a bill between housemates who all use Nata. Because the receiver gets wallet balance, they can spend it immediately on data, airtime, electricity, TV and everything else on Nata.

Rules the app enforces

Usernames

Every Nata user can set a username, up to 30 characters and unique across Nata, from the Send to user screen. Share it instead of your phone number or email. When someone types it, Nata shows the full name on the account before any money moves, so a typo sends nothing to a stranger.

What it is not

Send to user does not pay into bank accounts; it is Nata wallet to Nata wallet only. There is no fee because no bank or card network is involved: the balance simply moves from one account to the other inside Nata, and the receiver's notification arrives at the same moment.
