Nata

Use Nata in Claude, ChatGPT, Grok and other AI assistants

Add one link to your AI assistant, sign in with your Nata account, and ask in plain words: "buy 1GB MTN data for my number", "renew my DStv Compact", "what's my balance?". Connecting is free, prices are the same as in the app, and your PIN never goes into the chat.

The same link for everyone and every app. It is not a secret: it only works after you sign in.

Connect in 3 steps

  1. Add the link in your AI app as a custom connector (the exact menu for each app is below).
  2. Sign in on nata.ng. A Nata page opens in your browser. Sign in with your Nata email and password and you are sent back to the AI app. No account yet? Use the "Create an account" link on that page, verify your email, then sign in.
  3. Ask for what you need. Try "what's my Nata balance?" first. If it answers with your balance, you are connected.

Set it up in your AI app

Claude (web, desktop and mobile)

Open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, name it Nata and paste the link. Click Connect and sign in. Connectors you add on the web also show up in the Claude desktop and mobile apps.

ChatGPT

Open Settings → Connectors (on some plans you first turn on Developer mode under Advanced), choose Create, paste the link, set authentication to OAuth and save. ChatGPT then opens the Nata sign-in page.

Grok

Go to grok.com/connectors, choose New connector → Custom, paste the link and sign in.

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal, then type /mcp in Claude Code and pick Nata to sign in:

claude mcp add --transport http nata https://mcp.nata.ng/mcp

Cursor and other apps with an MCP settings file

Add this to the app's MCP settings (in Cursor: Settings → MCP), then sign in when asked:

{ "mcpServers": { "nata": { "url": "https://mcp.nata.ng/mcp" } } }

Codex

Add this to your Codex config.toml, then run codex mcp login nata:

[mcp_servers.nata] url = "https://mcp.nata.ng/mcp"

Any other AI assistant

If it can add a remote MCP server (also called Streamable HTTP) with sign-in, paste the link and sign in when the Nata page opens.

Things to try

If something goes wrong

The sign-in page says to verify your email: open the code we emailed you in the Nata app or at nata.ng, then sign in again. The assistant says the connection has ended: you logged out of the Nata app; reconnect the connector and sign in. A nata.ng link has expired: links last 10 minutes; ask the assistant for a new one. Nothing is charged on an expired link. Still stuck? Contact support.

Frequently asked questions

Does connecting an AI assistant to Nata cost anything?

No. Connecting is free, and anything you buy through the assistant costs exactly what it costs in the Nata app: no fee on data and airtime, a flat ₦100 on electricity and TV.

Which AI apps work with Nata?

Claude (web, desktop and mobile), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Grok, Cursor, Codex, and any other app that lets you add a remote MCP connector with sign-in. They all use the same link: https://mcp.nata.ng/mcp.

Will the AI see my PIN or password?

No. You sign in on a nata.ng page, not in the chat, and the AI app only receives a key to your account. Anything that needs your PIN opens a secure nata.ng page where you type it yourself.

Can the assistant spend my money without asking?

No. Every purchase, transfer and withdrawal it prepares opens a one-time nata.ng page where you check the order and type your PIN. Nothing is paid until you do, and the assistant never sees your PIN.

I don't have a Nata account. What do I do?

Create one at nata.ng/register (the sign-in page has a link too), verify your email with the code we send, then connect again and sign in.

Can I sell a gift card through the assistant?

Yes. Tell it which card and the value; it shows the rate and gives you a one-time nata.ng link where you upload photos of the card from your gallery or files. AI apps cannot pass your photos to Nata, so the upload happens on that page.

How do I disconnect it?

Log out of the Nata app, which disconnects every AI assistant, or remove the Nata connector in the AI app. Logging in to the Nata app does not disconnect it.

What can the assistant not do?

It cannot see or change your password or PIN, delete your account, or log you in or out. Those stay in the Nata app.
